Full Day Tour
Nguna Outer Island Adventure
Experience two of Vanuatu’s outer islands through a half day trek and an afternoon swim or snorkel, and support local communities who are conserving their reef and forest resources.
Itinerary
- 7AM pick-up from your accommodation in Port Vila
- Scenic transfer along Efate’s west coast to Emua Wharf
- 20 minute boat ride to Nguna Island
- 8.45AM start half day walk: choice of Volcano Walk or Village Walk
- Boat transfer to neighbouring Pele Island for a buffet lunch by the beach
- Snorkel and swim Pele’s lagoon or reef
- Boat and bus transfer back to your accommodation in Port Vila
At Nguna, you have a choice which walk you do (you must choose your walk before you depart). The Volcano Walk takes you atop one of Nguna’s extinct volcanoes, Mt Marou (472m), where you will be rewarded with sweeping views across the Shepherd Islands to the north, and south to Efate. Parts of the walk are steep and it takes 3 ½ hours on average. Or just take an easier Village Walk, adapted to your fitness level, to explore either upland or coastal villages.
After the morning walk, enjoy a buffet lunch by the beach on neighbouring Pele Island and then swim and snorkel the lagoon or reef.
